ALL THOSE QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need to book a room on my own?
A: No, accommodations are included in your registration fee, and everything is arranged for you.

Q: Do I need to bring my own food and drinks?
A: All food and drinks will be provided. We will offer meals, snacks, water, coffee in the morning, and basic soft drinks. Several meals will be served throughout the event, as outlined in the itinerary. If you prefer specific soft drinks, energy drinks, snacks, or candy, we recommend bringing them yourself.

Q: Do I need to bring any materials with me?
A: You will be provided with a notebook that includes the schedule, worksheets, and a pen. Please bring your Bible, tablet, or phone, as we will reference the Bible throughout the event. Additionally, you may bring a journal if you would like to use it during free time or throughout the event.

Q: What if I arrive late on Friday after work?
A: We strongly recommend arriving prior to the first session starting at 6:00 PM on Friday night. The event is sequential, with each lesson building upon the last. However, we understand if you must arrive late Friday night, and arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis. If arrangements need to be made, please contact Wiley Gilliam at 214.477.7443.

Q: Will there be beds to sleep on, or do I need to bring a cot?
A: Yes, each attendee will have a bed provided. If cots or air mattresses become necessary for any reason, you will be notified in advance. We do advise bringing your own sleeping bag, pillow, and towels with you.

Q: Is drinking allowed on the premises?
A: No, this is a drug and alcohol-free event.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Please bring two folding chairs, sunscreen, toiletries (e.g., soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.), a sleeping bag and pillow, towels, sunglasses, bug spray, a change of shoes ( if running) , a water bottle, a hat, any specific snack foods or candies you enjoy, and your preferred energy drinks or coffee.

Q: Can I fish during the event?
A: Yes, you are welcome to fish during the event. However, a fishing license will need to be purchased on the first day if you plan to fish. Licenses can be obtained at the Lake Murray main office.

Q: What time do we leave, or can we leave early?
A: Departure is scheduled for noon on Sunday, as outlined in the event schedule. We come to the event together, and we leave together. Please do not leave until the entire group has cleaned the campground and all work has been completed. The process goes very quickly and is achieved much faster when everyone lends a hand.

Q: Are scholarships available for the event?
A: Yes, scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis if scholarship funds are available. We ask every participant to contribute as much as they can towards the event, and assistance will be provided if there are funds in the scholarship account.
